We continue our celebration of HSO musicians with Concertmaster Leonid Sigal’s
twentieth anniversary season. In this special concert, “Lenny” will not only conduct the
orchestra, but both play and conduct the famous Beethoven violin concerto. The program
begins with Carlos Simon’s Fate Now Conquers, a contemporary piece that captivates with its
dynamic energy and emotional depth. Next, be swept away by the timeless beauty of
Beethoven’s Concerto for Violin in D major, op. 61, featuring virtuosic performances that
highlight the profound lyricism and technical brilliance of this iconic work. The concert concludes
with Bizet’s joyful and exuberant Symphony in C major, HSO’s first performance of this work
since 1998. | ||||
